Thanks to some cryptic clues and some dedicated detective work, you can find a nod to Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers Infinity War in God of War. It takes a bit of work and a lot of resources, but you can turn the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages talisman into an Infinity Gauntlet-like weapon with the right upgrades and the right enchantments. To save you the time and effort of finding and deciding which enchantments match up to the Infinity Stones or Infinity Gems, from the comic version, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know. We’ll include the locations or Favors for all seven pieces as well as the resources you’ll need for the necessary upgrades to the talisman. SIE Santa Monica Studio/Sony Interactive Entertainment via Polygon Shattered Gauntlet of Ages You’ll pick up the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages during the “Family Business” Favor for Sindri in Northri Stronghold. This Favor is only available after you’ve completed the “Fafnir’s Storeroom” Favor for Sindri and after you’ve completed the main story chapter, “The Sickness.” SIE Santa Monica Studio/Sony Interactive Entertainment via Polygon The in-game description of this talisman doesn’t explain much. The talisman gives you a shock wave-like ability that’s good for a crowd, but doesn’t deal a ton of damage it’s not one of our favorites. However, the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages is hiding a secret — with a lot of work and a lot a ton of money and resources, you can turn it into a God of War version of Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers Infinity War. If you fully upgrade it and equip certain enchantments stones into the talisman gauntlet, it becomes a powerful ranged weapon as well as a close-quarters attack that acts an awful lot like a certain Mad Titan’s favorite glove. Upgrading the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages The secret potential of the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages requires three enchantments — and you’ll only be able to socket three enchantments when it’s fully upgraded. That’s an expensive proposition. SIE Santa Monica Studio/Sony Interactive Entertainment via Polygon SIE Santa Monica Studio/Sony Interactive Entertainment via Polygon The first upgrade to the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages costs 55,000 hacksilver, two Dragon Tears and 18 Dust of Realms obtained from closing Realm Tears. The second upgrade costs 90,000 hacksilver, three Dragon Tears and 25 more Dust of Realms. Where to find Dragon Tears There are a total of five Dragon Tears in the game — which is lucky, because that’s exactly how many you need. You’ll free Otr as part of the “Otr’s Imprisonment” Favor in Veithurgard. Fafnir gets freed during “The Flight of Fafnir” Favor next to the Alfheim Tower. You can free the final dragon, Reginn, during “The Fire of Reginn” Favor in Konunsgard as part of the “Hail to the King” Favor. The final dragon tear isn’t available until after the “Return to the Summit” Journey. After you get back to Midgard, you’ll find Baldur’s dragon dead near the top of the Forgotten Caverns. Climb as high as you can — just above the brazier from “Unfinished Business” — and look right below the dragon’s nose for a buried Dragon Tear. Enchantments Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet needs six Infinity Stones, and God of War’s Shattered Gauntlet of Ages has six enchantments to choose from. In fact, that’s how you can tell which ones will unlock the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages’ special attack. Just like in the MCU, there are six enchantments that you can use.
